Volume by ETF asset class
Volume in fixed income ETFs increased by 6 percentage points in the second quarter of 2013, reversing the first quarter trend where trading in equities-based ETFs had increased. A higher proportion of overall trading volume was from sell requests; this trend was particularly pronounced in the fixed income sector, where over two-thirds of volume was selling.
