CFTC Weekly Swaps Report: Over $202 Trillion in Interest Rate Swaps Volume Cleared Through January 17

As part of its efforts to encourage transparency in the swaps market, the CFTC developed a Weekly Swaps Report, which provides a detailed view of trading activity in the swaps market.
The latest report shows that a total of over $202 trillion in gross notional outstanding interest rate swaps (IRS) and $2 trillion in credit default swaps (CDS) were cleared during the week ending January 17, 2014. The full break-out of gross notional outstanding swaps volume can be accessed here; following is a snapshot:

In terms of weekly dollar transaction volume, approximately $2.3 trillion in IRS transactions and $199 billion in CDS transactions were cleared in the second full week of January, as seen in the snapshot below:
