Start-up UST-trading venues face clearing hurdles

Risk Magazine's Robert Mackenzie Smith highlights some of the challenges facing startup platforms in U.S. Treasuries, especially those with all-to-all trading while there is no mandated clearing. Mackenzie draws on comments from Billy Hult, President of Tradeweb, at the WBR Fixed Income Leaders Summit in Boston, touching on how this type of trading will not really take off until the clearing component is solved for with different market participants trading Treasuries.
