SEFs Feel Growing Pains
| Regulation
Steve Marlin from Markets Media reports on the cautious move to SEF trading by buy-side and other market participants. Chris Amen, Head of U.S. Institutional Rates Markets at Tradeweb discusses the effect of mandatory trading on clients’ trading activity and volumes on SEFs. Part of the delay is caused by client connectivity for the derivatives trading workflow which is new for participants, Amen notes, but expects to see a an increase in SEF activity around the May 15th deadline for mandated trading of packaged swaps.
