The mid-yield of Greece’s 10-year benchmark bond, which will mature in February 2023, dropped below 8 per cent at today’s close for the first time since June 1, 2010. The bond’s yield fell 16.9 basis points to 7.89 per cent, while its mid price rose to 69.12 per cent.
This coincided with the news that Greece will auction one billion Euros of 26-week treasury bills on November 5 to refinance a maturing issue, as announced by the country's Public Debt Management Agency. The settlement date will be November 8. Only primary dealers will be allowed to participate, and no commission will be paid for the T-Bills auctioned.
