Clock synchronisation…time is ticking

The Trade's Hayley McDowell looks at the challenges facing buy-side firms ahead of the MiFID II clock synchronisation rules, and the role technology can play in helping to address them. Anna Westbury, director of regulation and market structure at Tradeweb, explains why the regulators consider accurate time stamps to be of importance, while Simon Maisey, managing director and global head of business development at Tradeweb, believes that the main issue is whether buy-side systems and decision-making processes have the required level of granularity, which could massively increase costs for market participants.
