Tradeweb Sponsors LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup Event

| Tradeweb Markets

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) recently announced that Tradeweb has been named as an Official Brand Ambassador sponsor of the LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup, a world-renowned women’s professional golf tournament designed as a tribute to the founders of the LPGA. The event will take place from October 4-10th and will be located at Mountain Ridge Country Club in New Jersey. The 2021 Cognizant Founders cup offers a $3 million purse, making it the largest of any LPGA Tour event outside of the majors and the CME Group Tour Championship.

We are excited to partner with the LPGA on this event for a number of reasons. The LPGA, originally founded by the 13 Founding Members, is one of the most successful and longest-running women’s sports organizations in history, and has been instrumental in strengthening women’s representation in golf and professional sports more broadly.

Lee Olesky, Tradeweb’s CEO and co-founder, said it best: “The LPGA and its founders have been a driving force in elevating women’s representation in golf, while breaking through barriers and showcasing the promising opportunities for the next generation of female athletes. Tradeweb is a financial technology company that continues to break though barriers of its own and we support the LPGA in challenging the status quo and for empowering women.”

While our industries may be vastly different, Tradeweb’s founders have always aspired toward similar goals – finding new opportunities to expand and advance the industry.

As a sponsor of the event, Tradeweb will host a “Breakthrough Breakfast,” where guests of Tradeweb will have an opportunity to sit in on a fireside chat featuring LPGA players and pioneers. Additionally, Tradeweb will assist with all aspects of tournament operations on site, and will work closely with the LPGA on various aspects of promotion, scoring, transportation and hospitality services to create what will be a very special and memorable event for both the players and attendees.

To further highlight this news, Tradeweb announced this LPGA sponsorship during our latest Global Women’s Network client event, which was a golf night at Chelsea Piers in New York City. Tradeweb’s Global Women’s Network is comprised of women and men from all across the company – from business, to finance, to technology – who all have the same goal in mind: to ensure that women have an opportunity to excel, within our organization, industry and more broadly.

Erica Barrett, Managing Director, U.S. Institutional Rates at Tradeweb, said: “Our latest Global Women’s Network event was a huge success. We feel truly lucky to have been able to interact with our clients in person for an evening of golfing, networking and having fun. We look forward to hosting more of these types of events in the future.”

At Tradeweb, we continue to look for new ways to make sure women’s voices are heard, and we are thrilled to partner with the LPGA for the upcoming Cognizant Founders Cup to further highlight women’s achievements in golf. For more information about the event, please visit
