The following data is derived from trading activity on the Tradeweb Markets institutional European- and U.S.-listed ETF platforms.

EUROPEAN-LISTED ETFs

Total traded volume

Trading activity on the Tradeweb European-listed ETF marketplace reached EUR 84.3 billion in June and nearly EUR 240 billion in the second quarter of the year, the platform’s second highest quarterly volume on record. The proportion of transactions and notional volume completed via Tradeweb’s Automated Intelligent Execution (AiEX) tool amounted to 95% and 34%, respectively.

Adam Gould, Global Head of Equities at Tradeweb, said: "June continued the strong momentum we’ve seen across our ETF business throughout the year. Growth was fuelled by both new clients onboarding to the platform and unrelenting adoption of our rules-based automated RFQ protocol.”

Equity ETFs saw net buying in June, representing 73% of the overall platform flow, five percentage points higher than the previous 12-month rolling average. Similarly, ‘buys’ in fixed income ETFs surpassed ‘sells’ by 16 percentage points; in contrast, commodity ETFs were mostly sold during the month.
