Advanced technology that goes unnoticed
When you’re trying to get a trade done, the last thing you want to worry about is technology. You just want it to work the way it’s supposed to. That’s why we’ve invested so much of our resources into designing and building retail marketplaces that ensure you receive the highest levels of connectivity, security and integration—without having to notice the technology behind it.
Flexible Access
Tradeweb Retail’s buy- and sell-side participants log in through our website, which is regularly updated and enhanced using the latest C# .NET 3.5 technology. Buyers can use the site to search for offerings, create offer sheets and ladders, and submit orders and RFQs. Sellers can use the site to monitor and maintain their offerings and respond to orders and RFQs.
All clients use industry-standard FIX interfaces to access Tradeweb Retail’s liquidity pools. Distributors subscribe to real-time offerings and submit orders and RFQs through FIX, while contributors publish real-time offerings and respond to orders and RFQs through FIX.
Connectivity and Integration
Tradeweb Retail allows you to choose your method of connectivity: GUI to GUI, FIX to FIX, FIX to GUI, and GUI to FIX. Although web browsers and FIX are the preferred methods of connectivity, Tradeweb Retail also provides alternatives such as FTP and web services. In addition, Tradeweb Retail also enables connections to clients’ proprietary APIs.
Distributors often integrate a white-labeled version of Tradeweb Retail with their front and back offices, allowing advisors to search and buy live and executable inventory. Alternatively, some distributors use their proprietary front-end and co-mingle Tradeweb Retail’s dealer inventory with additional third-party vendor and dealer pricing feeds.
Pricing and Monitoring
Dealer pricing is integrated into Tradeweb’s ATS and channeled to financial advisors and traders through a vast distribution network. Contributing dealers may also send their prices to Tradeweb Retail via real-time FIX connections, Bloomberg TOMS, FTP, or proprietary links. With a focus on real-time inventory, Tradeweb Retail’s trade support desk monitors the trade blotter to ensure that all orders are executed promptly.
Low Latency and High Capacity
Tradeweb Retail’s multi-tiered architecture is built on our institutional-strength in-memory pricing engines. These scalable engines achieve high throughput and low latency even during the busiest markets. Total separation of pricing and trading, and a large amount of spare capacity, ensure that the client experience is not negatively impacted.
Security and Redundancy
Every layer of Tradeweb Retail’s architecture is designed to be fault tolerant, as it leverages clustered databases, message persistence, and redundant servers. Tradeweb Retail’s website uses 128 bit SSL encryption. Clients using Tradeweb Retail’s front end can access the site using industry-standard SAML authentication. Tradeweb Retail maintains an off-site disaster recovery data center and conducts regular BCP exercises.
