Tradeweb

Tradeweb launched its inter-dealer business in late-2008, with the acquisition of Hilliard Farber and the subsequent launch of an electronic trading platform for mortgages.

Inter-dealer

Building an Inter-dealer Network

Tradeweb's inter-dealer business includes Hilliard Farber, a voice broker of major U.S. fixed income markets, and Dealerweb, and electronic trading platform initially for pass-through mortgage-backed securities, an area of mutual expertise.

The formation of an inter-dealer business was a natural extension for Tradeweb, a pioneer in developing electronic customer-to-dealer trading of debt securities and derivatives since 1998. The acquisition of Hilliard Farber in 2008 provided extensive voice broking experience, as well as an extensive network of trading desk relationships - the perfect complement to Tradeweb's electronic trading expertise.

Hilliard Farber

Established in 1975, Hilliard Farber has grown to become one of the premier voice brokerage houses in North America, specializing in mortgage-backed and other U.S. securities. Based in New York City, Hilliard Farber has built a legacy of strong relationships and expertise in the markets it covers.

Dealerweb

The formation of Dealerweb, a standalone electronic inter-dealer platform, is a natural extension for Tradeweb, which has played a pioneering role in developing electronic customer-to-dealer trading of debt securities and derivatives since 1998. Launched in 2009, Dealerweb offers the major investment dealers the opportunity to trade in a highly liquid and anonymous trading environment for a wide range of mortgage-backed, U.S. Treasury and Agency securities.
